Made this wedding cake-ish cake for Doug's office. Carrot cake with cream cheese icing, which tastes great, but is sticky and slimy and doesn't stay together. Oh well, I'm in love with the gumpaste carrots. Wanted to keep some for myself!

The order of things

I've been completely bass akwards when posting, but I just discovered how easy it is to take photos from flickr and post them! Anyway - am still playing catch up but hopefully I'll be up to date soon.

Victoria's cake

I was hired by someone in Long Island to make Elmo cupcakes (see post below) and she also wanted a birthday cake featuring purple and butterflies. I had so much fun making this cake - the butterflies were my little pets for a couple of days - I was sad to see them go! The cake was a layer of chocolate and vanilla, with a whipped cream ganache filling, icing was vanilla buttercream. Doug took the photos.

One more about Gus and his birthday, I promise

Here's the cupcake I did for Gus - figured he needed one of his own to enjoy. Doug thought my frosting looked like a blue dog turd, but hey, Gussie loved it!

I had big plans for the cake, but as it always goes, time ran out on me and went with the old standby - dots and bubble letters! It was good, even if it did turn everyone blue!
